Pension and Retirement Security Initiatives
Vermont State Treasurer, Beth Pearce, has inherited a pension system for State employees and teachers that is significantly underfunded to meet future liabilities. According to a 2017 Pew Foundation study, Vermont has about 65% of its future obligations funded. Treasurer Pearce will discuss initiatives now underway to establish security for pension and retirement funds.
