Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! Today we kicked things off by inducting Patrick Murray into our Club as our 63rd member. If you haven’t done so already, please introduce yourselves to Patrick and make him feel welcome. Our speakers today were Town of Essex Stormwater Coordinator, Annie Constandi and Village Environmental Technician, Chelsea Mandigo. For the past several years, Annie and Chelsea have spearheaded the joint efforts of the Town and the Village to address the issue of stormwater runoff in our community. They outlined the plans they have implemented to make sure all developments and municipal facilities are in compliance with state and federal clean water regulations. They were happy to report that the new stormwater facilities that have been constructed near Cascade Street, Athens Drive and the Lang Farm all worked as expected during the recent Halloween storm.

Annual Senior Luncheon

The annual senior luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4th at the Champlain Valley Expo. As always, we will be looking for volunteers that day to help serve food, put together goodie bags and clean up. Please contact Janet Cooper at jcooper@cooperfinancialvt.com if you have any questions or are able to donate items for the goodie bags.

Salvation Army Bell-Ringing Project

We are pleased to report that all of our bell-ringing shifts have been filled with weeks to spare! Thank you to the many Rotarians who volunteered for shifts and thank you to Rusty Brink for once again facilitating this service project!

Server Gratuity

We are still collecting donations for a holiday gratuity to give to our server in December. If you would like to contribute to this, please give your cash donation to Jean Ashe at the Senior Luncheon or at the front desk before our December 11th meeting. There is no set amount to donate and every little bit that we receive is appreciated.

Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf

We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf on the following dates; Monday, December 9th (5:15pm) and Thursday, December 19th (3:30pm). Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com if you are able to fill any of these shifts.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule: Wednesday, November 27, 2019 – We will not be holding a meeting that day.
