Meeting Recap
Greetings Rotarians! We started things off with summaries from all of the charitable committees on their year-to-date activities. The literacy committee is looking into various local, national and international literacy projects and is in the process of narrowing down which ones it would like to support. The international committee has applied for a $1,000.00 matching grant from the District to support Sharon Dettenreider’s upcoming humanitarian trip to Jamaica. The local committee has donated $100.00 to the Essex Historical Society and $500.00 to each of the three food shelves in our community. The national committee has earmarked $2,500.00 to assist Blue Star Mothers in training therapy dogs. The youth committee reported that they have donated $350.00 to Essex CHIPS for their healthy snack program and $250.00 to the Green Mountain Girl Scout council. We concluded the meeting with a presentation on the Essex Rotary Survey results. Please visit the following link if you are interested in reading the survey summary that was presented at the meeting:
