October 15th Social at First Republic was well attended .  We enjoyed pizza and time getting together.  We had a surprise guest speaker, Wood 4 Good founder Eric Alexrod.  Eric has been featured in Seven Days, in VTDigger, and has been on the Today show with Craig Melvin.  He delivered 190 cords of wood to families in need last year.  He is hoping to grow the program by 20 percent with the ultimate goal of serving the entire state of Vermont.   Eric also talked about the danger of standing dead ash trees and the need to remove them before they become infested with Emerald ash borer.  The state is expecting 100% mortality to the ash tree population in the next few years.  Eric accepts both cash donations and volunteer support to split , load and deliver wood.  For more information go to wood4good.org
