Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians!  Today’s speaker was Dawn Bugbee from Green Mountain Power Corporation (GMPC).  Ms. Bugbee explained how the merger between GMPC and Central Vermont Public Service has increased their operational efficiency and how it has expanded the range of services that GMPC can provide.  She also discussed the various sources of energy used by GMPC, which range from hydroelectric power to nuclear power.  She also discussed the manners in which her company is focusing on energy efficiency and the utilization of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power.  For more information about GMPC, please visit their website at www.greenmountainpower.com

 

Essex Rotary Golf Tournament

This year’s tournament is officially in the books!  Committee chair, Dave Johnson reported that the Club netted just under $20,000.00 from this year’s event. The funds raised by the Golf Tournament, the Corn Booth and the Hockey Classic will be combined and used to fund our charitable endeavors for the 2013-2014 Rotary year.  Thank you again to all who participated in this event and thank you to Dave and his committee for their hard work in making this year’s tournament a huge success!

 

Essex Rotary Changeover Dinner

This year’s changeover dinner will be held at Chapin Orchards on Saturday, June 29th.  You are strongly encouraged to bring your family members to what should be a great day at the orchard.  We will be conducting our annual changeover ceremonies as well as the Rotary Auction.  There will be a number of great items up for bid at the auction, so be sure to bring your checkbooks!  In order to get an accurate headcount to the caterer, we ask that you please RSVP as quickly as you can.  Please contact either Heather Lemon or President Phil to let them know how many from your party will be attending.  Finally, for the second consecutive year, we will be honoring our Rotarian of the Year and our Essex Rotary Rookie of the Year at this event.  Please be sure to submit your nominations for each of these categories to President Phil for consideration.   

         

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Saturday, June 29, 2013 – Rotary Changeover Dinner at Chapin Orchards at 4:00pm.  Please note, there will not be a regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2013
