Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians!  Today’s speaker was Fletcher Allen Hospital CEO, John Brumsted.  Dr. Brumsted indicated that there is a great deal of anxiety over the effect the proposed Vermont healthcare system will have on the quality of care and availability of services at his hospital.  He offered reassurances that Fletcher Allen Hospital will remain alive and well even if this system is implemented and that it will continue to thrive thereafter.  He pointed to the fact that Vermont leads the nation in access to primary care and that it consistently ranks in the top ten in terms of efficiency of its healthcare providers.  Dr. Brumsted outlined the plans for the hospital’s future which include improving the post-natal care ward. 

Preparations are well under way for this event and we are currently soliciting volunteers to help out on game.  Both games and banquets are being held on Saturday, March 23, 2013.  We would ask that all Rotarians be prepared to help out at this event as we need all of the assistance we can get.  At present, we are particularly light on volunteers for cashiers at the men’s game and could really use some more help there. Sign up sheets are being passed around at our weekly meetings and are now available on the website.  Please e-mail Jason Ruwet at JFR@essexvtlaw.com if you have any questions about this event.  Don’t forget that these shifts can be counted as make-ups, so this is a great way for people to boost their attendance numbers!

District Conference – Bermuda Cruise

This year’s District 7850 Conference will take place on a cruise to Bermuda!  The cruise ship will depart from Boston on May 24^th and arrive in Bermuda on May 26^th.  After three, fun-filled days in the land of stylish shorts and favorable tax laws, the ship will commence its journey back to Boston and arrive in the Hub on May 31^st.  For more information about this trip, or to view a copy of the trip’s agenda, please visit the following link: http://www.clubrunner.ca/Data/7850//HTML/170071//Bermuda%20Promo%20letter%207850%20edited.pdf

Essex Rotary Golf Tournament
