Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians. Today’s speaker was fellow Rotarian and Superintendent of the Essex Westford School District. Beth discussed the challenges educators have faced during the COVID pandemic and the measures that have been adopted to continue the school year. Between online learning and creative ways to handle graduation, the district has been able to continue its curriculum for the remainder of the school year. Beth also discussed the challenges educators will face when the students are scheduled to return to in-person learning in the fall.

Service Above Self Scholarship Recognition

This past Saturday, several Rotarians arrived at the place of employment of the sixth student to be recognized as a Service Above Self Scholarship recipient. Congratulations to all six of this year’s scholarship recipients. Thank you to all of the Rotarians who took part in this amazing event. A special thank you goes out to Penny Klein for organizing this effort!

Membership Dues

By now, you all should have received your invoices for your 2020-2021 membership dues. As we’ve mentioned before, it is our sincere hope that all of our members will renew their memberships for the 2020-2021 Rotary year. If your intention is to renew your membership, we ask that you please remit payment for your dues no later than June 19th as we will need to report the 2020-2021 roster to Rotary International before the start of the new Rotary year (which begins on July 1st). It is worth noting that half (1/2) of the dues can be paid now with the other half (1/2) being paid by December 31st. If, however, you do not intend to renew your membership, we’d ask that you please reach out to any member of the Board ahead of time to let us know and to see if there is anything that the Club can do to make it easier for you to remain as a member Please note that if we do not receive your dues payments by June 19th, we will have to drop you from the Membership roster. Please let us know if this timeline is going to be an issue so we can try to work something out.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule: Wednesday, June 17, 2020 – We will once again be holding a Zoom meeting. At this meeting, we will be holding a brainstorming session to map out our Club’s strategies for the upcoming year. If you would like a say in what our Club looks like moving forward, this would be a great meeting for you to attend.
