Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! Our speaker today was Vicki Loner, CEO of OneCare Vermont. OneCare is an accountable care organization (ACO) working with Medicare, Vermont Medicaid, Commercial, and Self-Funded insurance programs to improve the health of Vermonters. It is comprised of an extensive network of primary and specialty care physician members, hospitals, post-acute care facilities and other healthcare stakeholders all agreeing to focus on improved health, higher quality, lower cost increases and greater coordination of care for all of our Vermonters. Vicki explained that approximately 75% of independent healthcare providers in the state are part of an ACO. COVID 19 and Rotary

Many Rotarians have asked what impact the COVID 19 pandemic will have on our Club. Please be advised that the Board is in the midst of discussions on how to proceed moving forward and that an announcement will be made prior to the next scheduled meeting date on the manners in which our Club plans to proceed.

Rotary Hockey Classic

As of right now, this event is still scheduled to occur on Saturday, March 21st at the Essex Skating Facility. The women’s game will start at 3:30pm and the men’s game starting immediately after. As always, we will need several Rotarians to help at this event. As the Hockey Classic may be affected by the COVID 19 outbreak, we ask that Members please keep an eye out for future announcements regarding the status of this event. Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf

We are looking for volunteers at the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf on the following dates: Thursday, March 26th (from 3:30 - 6:30 PM); Monday, April 6th (from 5:15 to 7:45 PM); and Thursday, April 23rd (from 5:15 to 7:45pm). As is the case with all of our Rotary activities, any changes in the status of these shifts will be communicated to the Club. Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com if you are able to help fill any of these shifts.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule: Wednesday, March 18, 2020 – Our speaker will be Peter Welch, U.S. Representative for Vermont’s at-large congressional district. Again, please stay tuned for any announcements concerning the status of this meeting.
