Meeting Recap
Greetings fellow Rotarians! Today we held our monthly committee meetings. Committees are reminded that the end of the Rotary fiscal year will be here before you know it.  With that in mind, committees are encouraged to think about finalizing the manners in which they would like to disburse their funds.

Rotary All-Star Hockey Classic
Another successful Rotary All-Star Hockey Classic is officially in the books!  Large crowds were on hand as the Austin Conference emerged victorious in the girls’ game by a score of 4-0, while the Harris Conference claimed bragging rights in the boys’ game with a 4-2 victory.  The concession sales were brisk and the smiles on the faces of the players and their family members were abundant.  In addition to being a very successful fundraiser for our Club, this is an event that means a great deal to the players, the coaches, their families and their communities.  Thank you to all of the Rotarians who graciously took time out of your schedules to volunteer at this event and to provide items for our concession stand.  A special thank you goes out to Jeff Cabanaw and the rest of the hockey committee for the hard work they have been putting into this event since November.

Essex High School Community Service Dinner
Essex High School will be recognizing several of its seniors for their community service at a dinner on April 4th at the Essex High School cafeteria.  Our Club is looking for 16 volunteers to help set up, serve food and clean up.  Please contact Amy Jackman at amymj@us.ibm.com if you are able to help.

Photographer Wanted!
The Public Relations committee is looking for a shutterbug who would be willing to assist with taking pictures at our meetings and events.  If you are good with a camera and would like to help out with this job, please contact Pat Spielman at pspielman5465@gmail.com

Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf
We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf on the following dates: Monday, April 8th (5:00pm); and Thursday, April 25th (3:30pm). Please contact Sharon Dettenrieder at sharon.dettenrieder@gmail.com if you are able to fill any of these shifts.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:  Wednesday, April 3, 2019 – As one fundraiser ends, another begins.  This meeting will serve as the official kick-off for the 2019 Essex Rotary Golf Tournament.  This is our Club’s largest fundraiser, so we are hoping to get everyone in the right frame of mind with a fun meeting. We’ll start things off with the ceremonial passing of the golf ball from the hockey committee to the golf committee. We’ll also get into the spirit of things with the always anticipated Club Putting Contest in which putters will compete for a freshly baked dessert.  You won’t want to miss what should be a festive meeting!
