Greetings fellow Rotarians! Our speaker today was Ben Bosley who was on hand to discuss the recently formed partnership between Rotary International and Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI).  MBBI is a non-profit organization that provides leadership and mediation training to community members in parts of the world that are affected by conflict.  Recently, MBBI and Rotary International announced that they would be forming a partnership to advance their common goals of promoting peace across the globe. Since joining together, the groups have collaborated in putting together two international training institutes for women peacebuilders. They have also created a “Peace Synergist” volunteer position within MBBI for Rotary Peace Fellows.  Since forming this partnership, MBBI has been a key presenter at many different Rotary functions including District Conferences and Rotary International Conventions.             Please be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming Senior Holiday Luncheon!  Each year, our Club works with the Knights of Columbus to put on a meal for over 200 senior citizens from our area.  This year’s event will be held at the Champlain Valley Exposition on Wednesday, December 5^th.  In addition to needing volunteers, we will also be looking for Rotarians to help us find items that can be used to fill the goodies bags we deliver to the guests.  Stay tuned for more details about this event as we get closer to the date.

 

            We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Heavenly Pantry Food Shelf in the next few months.  We will need volunteers for the following dates: Thursday, November 15; Monday, December 10; and Thursday, December 20.
