Meeting Recap

Greetings fellow Rotarians! We kicked things off by inducting our 63rd member, David Voegele into the Club.  David has taken over as the new Executive Director at Essex CHIPS.  If you haven’t done so already, please take the time to introduce yourselves to David and to make him feel welcome. We then proceeded to recognize fellow Rotarian Kristin Winer for attaining Paul Harris Plus 2 status! Kristin achieved this distinction by donating $3,000.00 to the Rotary Foundation during her time as a Rotarian.  Thanks to the generous support of people like Kristin, the Rotary Foundation continues to finance Rotary’s good work across the globe.  The Paul Harris presentation was a perfect segue into our speakers’ presentation as their project serves as a perfect example of how money from the Foundation can help finance great things.  For the past 14 years, the Shelburne-Charlotte Rotary Club has operated the Hands to Honduras Tela program. Each year, members of this Club and several other volunteers travel to Tela, Honduras to provide much-needed aid and assistance to that impoverished part of the world. Their contributions have included the construction of a neonatal care center for new mothers, latrine systems and the refurbishment of school classrooms.  Thanks to the support of the Rotary Foundation, these Rotarians are able to continue this good work each year.  For more information about their projects, please visit:
