ROTARY CLUB OF ESSEX
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

Meeting Recap

Greetings Rotarians!  Today we held our charitable committee meetings. Once committees determine the manners in which they will spend their funds, please report this information to the Board so that it can be reported back to the Club.  One consistent concern that has popped up in the survey is that members in general do not feel they are getting enough information on how much we are raising in funds and the manners in which those funds are donated.

2016 Essex Rotary Survey

The responses to the survey have slowed down to a crawl. While we are pleased with the number of people who have responded, we would still like to see some more as we close out this process. Right now we are setting a tentative date of Friday, October 7th as the deadline for completing the survey.  Our hope is that ALL of our members will take a few minutes to participate.  Remember, this is your opportunity to weigh in on the direction our Club should take in the future. You may complete the survey by clicking on the following link:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/R8Z2HW6  Shortly after the 7th, the survey results (including comments) will be shared with all of the members.  The Board will also be taking some time to discuss the results in greater detail at our October 26th meeting.

Essex Eats Out

On Friday, October 7th from 5:00 to 8:00pm, our Club will be putting on the Essex Eats Out event at the First Congregational Church.  We are looking for volunteers to serve food, assist with set up and clean up and to bring dishes to serve at this dinner.  A sign-up sheet for this event is currently being circulated at our weekly meetings.

Feed My Starving Children – Service Project

On Saturday, October 15th from 9 to 11 am our club is planning to volunteer at ADL middle school for the Feed My Starving Children service project. At this event, we help hand-pack meals for malnourished children and the meals are sent around the world where they're used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs. You can sign up for this event on our website at http://rotaryclubofessex.org/volunteer/managevolunteercontacts?VolunteerSignUpId=5e31f183-87f2-4563-8148-49afd137b4ac&Token=iHdTnbYFOoHFxph3X2RPWDSsqfAR736rMXAT1qqKLLt0eimM38vs1pewq-zi772G0  Please contact Amy Jackman for more details about this service project.
