Greetings Rotarians!  We started today’s meeting with a classification talk from long time member, Mike LeBoeuf.  Mike has been a member of our Club since 1984 and served as our Club’s President in 1991.  During that time, he addressed the lack of fundraising efforts in the Club by starting up a pancake breakfast and the Corn Booth. Thank you, Mike for giving us the chance to learn a little more about you.  Our speaker today was Brett Grabowski of Milot Realty.  Brett is the principal owner of the large-scale project that is taking place at the Five Corners.  Brett explained that the building will house 51 residential apartments and a first floor for commercial and retail space. Rental prices for the residential units will range from $1,275.00 to $2,500.00 per month.  The property will also accommodate 50 underground parking spaces for the residents of the building and 60 exterior spaces for patrons of the businesses located on the first floor.  Many Rotarians had questions about the access, the traffic and the parking situation. Overall, it was a very interesting discussion about the many changes that are coming to the Five Corners.

 

 

            The 2016 Essex Rotary Golf Tournament is now officially in the books! Early indications are that our Club raised over $25,000.00 from this year’s event!  Thank you again to Golf Committee members, Jean Ashe, Mark Benton, Heidi Brosseau, Bill Ellis, Nancy Freeze, Committee Chair, Dave Johnson, Chris Kasper, Phil Murdock, Trish Porter, Tim Shea and Kristin Winer for your hard work and efforts in once again making this event a tremendous success!

 

 

            You and your families are cordially invited to this year’s changeover dinner/picnic that will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday, June 29^th at the Maple Street Park in Essex Junction.  This event will be catered and it will be FREE of charge (no, that’s not a misprint!) so please join us for an evening of family fun and fellowship.  A sign-up sheet is being circulated at our meetings, so please let the Club know if you and your family will be attending.

 

 

            The next volunteering opportunities will be on June 23^rd and July 28th.  Please let Sharon Dettenrieder know if you are interested in signing up for any of these shifts.
