Meeting Recap
Greetings Rotarians! Today we joined the Knights of Columbus to put on the annual Holiday Senior Luncheon at the Champlain Valley Exposition. Several Rotarians were on hand to assist with serving food, stuffing and delivering goodie bags to nearly 200 seniors and cleaning up after the meal. During the meal we were all treated with a holiday choral performance by the Albert D. Lawton Middle School choir which was followed by a visit from jolly old St. Nick himself! By all accounts, all who attended (seniors and Rotarians alike) thoroughly enjoyed the festivities. Thank you very much to Diana Ferguson for coordinating the efforts of our Club at this event and thank you to all of the Rotarians who volunteered to help out!
Holiday Gift for our Server at The Essex
For the past year, we have been cheerfully served by Katie at The Essex. Her bright demeanor and ever-present smile have made our lunches at The Essex that much more enjoyable. As a thank you for her hard work and great service, Dave Johnson is taking up a collection from members for the purpose of buying her a nice gift. Please consider donating $5.00 to this cause so we can properly express our gratitude to Katie!
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Just as a reminder, our Club has agreed to fill Salvation Army Bell Ringing shifts on December 12th and December 13th in front of the Essex Price Chopper and Essex Discount. A sign-up sheet has been circulated at our meetings, but if you haven’t signed up yet, please contact Nancy Freeze at dnfreeze@gmail.com and let her know which shifts you would like.
Upcoming Meeting Schedule: Wednesday, December 10, 2014 – Our speaker will be Marsha Maksym from the United Way.
