Meeting Recap

 

        Greetings Rotarians! We started off today’s meeting by inducting our newest member into the Club.  Chris Kasper, who was sponsored by Pat Spielman-Morris, became the newest Essex Rotarian.  Please take the time to introduce yourselves to Chris and to make him feel welcome at our Club!  We then broke off into charitable committee meetings.  Each of the six (6) committees met to discuss ways of disbursing the money we have raised through our fundraising efforts.   All committees are reminded that they have until June 15th to make requests for checks to be disbursed, but they are encouraged to not wait until the last minute to decide on how the money should be spent.

 
Essex Rotary Key Bank All-Star Hockey Classic
 
            The Hockey Classic will be held on Saturday, March 15th.  The women’s game will start at 1:00pm and the men’s game will commence at 3:30pm. Thank you to those of you who have already volunteered, but we still need more volunteers!  The sign-up sheet is on the website and it will be passed around at the meetings. We ask that you please help out with this event if you can.  This is one of the biggest service projects we take on, and with everyone chipping in to help for a few hours, we can continue making this event a success.
 
District 7850 Rotary Leadership Institute
 
            The District Rotary Leadership Institute is offering leadership courses for anyone who is interested.  The next courses are scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.  Breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks will be included as part of the course and our Club will cover the cost for any Rotarians who would like to attend.  This is a great way to learn about the many functions of Rotary, so newer members are strongly encouraged to attend.  For registration information, please visit
 
District 7850 Conference
 
            Be sure to mark your calendars for the District 7850 Conference! This year’s conference will be held at the Hilton in Burlington from April 25th through April 27th.  All Rotarians are encouraged to attend what should be an informative and highly interactive event.   More details will follow concerning the speakers and programs that will be featured at this event.
